Higher Calling is also a place for public reflection, conversation, and formation. Through essays, seminars, retreats, online convenings, and future publications, I hope to create spaces where faith, reason, justice, and personal vocation can meet.
Much of our writing grows out of the same questions I bring to preaching, coaching, and civic life: How do we live with integrity in anxious times? How do we form consciences capable of truth, compassion, and courage? How do we build families, workplaces, churches, and a democracy worthy of human dignity?
Our Substack writing, including Common Sense Liberalism and Common Sense Sundays, brings together scripture, sociology, democratic ethics, Judeo-Christian principles, and the lived experience of ordinary people trying to do the right thing. These essays are not simply commentary. They are invitations to think more deeply, listen more honestly, and respond more faithfully to the moral challenges of our time.
Higher Calling Convenings extends this work through online seminars, retreats, public conversations, and formation programs on topics such as faith and justice, leadership, democracy, vocation, grief, discernment, and the common good.
